Dental Staff

Dr. Nathan Beck earned his BS in Exercise from Brigham Young University and his Doctorate in Dental Surgery from the UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Beck spent two years in American Samoa practicing dentistry on the island’s Lyndon B. Johnson Tropical Medical Center. He and his family then moved to Bishop, California where Dr. Beck practiced at the Toyabi Indian Health Project for three years. Dr. Beck has now been serving the Central Coast community at Atascadero Hills Dental since 2020 and looks forward to meeting you and giving you a reason to smile. 

Dr. Beck is involved in other professional capacities including serving as an assistant professor at Western University of Health Sciences and being an ethics consultant for the Dental Board of California. He also is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the California Dental Association, and the Central Coast Dental Society. 

Dr. Beck, along with his wife and four boys enjoy exploring what the Central Coast has to offer as they hike the endless number of trails and visit the beautiful beaches; Dr. Beck loves to surf, but is afraid of the local sharks! He also enjoys coaching their children’s baseball & basketball teams. He grew up doing Polyneisian dances for the family luau business and also became fluent in Spanish while serving as a missionary in Argentina.

Dr. Preston M. Beck joined Atascadero Hills Dental in Aug. 2021, as co-owner and business partner with his brother Dr. Nathan L. Beck. In the Practice, they are known as Dr. Preston and Dr. Nathan. Their passion for dentistry kicked-off when they were invited by a family friend to join a dental humanitarian trip to the Islands of Tonga in 2010. It was in Tonga that the two brothers started to envision working together in a family-owned dental practice. Dr. Preston loves working with his wife Rachael, who is one of the hygienist and Drs. Preston and Nathan Beck's dad Maril Beck, is the Business Manager.

Dr. Preston graduated from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. Upon acceptance into Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at USC, Dr. Preston received a full-scholarship with the Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program. After graduation and military training, Dr. Preston was commissioned as an Officer in the US Navy. For the next four years he served as a Military Dentist, while being stationed in San Diego, North Carolina and San Clemente, CA. Following military service, Dr. Preston completed a year-long dental implant course through the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.

When he is not at the dental practice, Dr. Preston can be found coaching-up his 5 children in sports and exploring the beautiful central coast with his family. These activities are usually shared with Dr. Nathan's family, and it can get pretty crazy when all the fun 'cuzzies' get together! Dr. Preston and Dr. Nathan workout regularly before heading into the Practice. Dr. Preston is a tennis and pickle ball fanatic and still finds several hours a month to feed his competitive spirit. He also serves the youth each week at church.

My wife and I moved to the Central Coast in Aug of 2021, to be with our two oldest sons, Drs. Nathan and Preston, and their families including; wonderful daughters-in-law and 9 fun grandchildren! We have two other sons and love to see them and their families as much as possible. Our family experience has been one of family business. Each of our boys worked during their high school years in their own business called 'Moving Day Muscle'. We created, Moving Day Muscle so that our boys would learn firsthand about basic business ownership.

Other than seeing two sons go through dental school, I have no dental experience, however I have vast business experience. I graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS in Electronics Engineering Technology, and an emphasis in business. I also received a one year certificate in Project Management from San Diego University. After working as a Project Manager for nearly 20 years at Motorola, we made the decision to launch into our family business -- Islanders Luau, beginning in 2008.

At Atascadero Hills Dental, I focus on the business aspects of the practice so that Drs. Nathan and Preston can have more time to focus on their clinical skills and continue their passionate pursuit of dental mastery. We feel so blessed to have an excellent team at Atascadero Hills Dental. Together we apply the principles of accountability, integrity, and communication to accomplish our motto which is: 'What else can I do to provide our patients with wonderful dental visits and excellent dental care.'

 Hi, I'm Dr. Ron Chalker. I grew up in Columbus, Wisconsin, and moved to Loma Linda, California, and eventually attended Loma Linda University. Afterward, I was accepted into the Loma Linda University Dental School. After graduation, my wife Joy and I moved to Atascadero and opened our dental office in 1976. We raised two children and now we have 2 grandchildren and one on the way.

A couple of years ago I sold my practice and now I am working part-time as an associate dentist with Atascadero Hills Dental. This enables me to still see
patients that I have known for many years.

I provide porcelain crowns and bridges on teeth and dental implants. I also offer esthetic fillings that are strong and natural looking.

I am active in the Spear Study Club with several Dental Specialists and General Dentists. It is an excellent way to keep up to date with the latest materials and techniques in advanced dental treatment. I really enjoy the advances that dentistry has accomplished over the years, and I love providing excellent dentistry for each and every patient I see.   

I have over 25 years of experience in dentistry. For the last 3.5 years I have been at Atascadero Hills Dental and enjoy being part of the team. Its my goal. to make patients feel comfortable when they come to our office. In my free time my husband along with my kids like to spend tie in the outdoors camping and fishing.

Montana has been working in dentistry since 2014 and loves what she does! She is currently in school and working towards her goal of becoming a dental hygienist. 

You’ll find her outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather and hiking the local trails with her dog Maui. She’s blessed to be able to be a part of the Atascadero Hills dental family and hopes to work there as a hygienist in the future. 

I have been in the field of dentistry since 2016. I work to provide front office support and direction in all areas and have a focus on treatment plans and insurance. I love being a part of the family at Atascadero Hills dental, but I truly love our patients. It's a joy to be able to serve in our dental community.

In my free time I enjoy hiking, reading and working out. I love spending time with my family and our four cats.

Juli has been in dentistry for five years now and enjoys working with three amazing doctors at Atascadero Hills Dental. She loves to be able to make a difference in patients’ lives for the better of their teeth. It’s a blessing for her to know that she was part of that experience. It’s her goal at Atascadero Hills Dental to bring a smile out of all her patients. 

She enjoys teaching Dr. Chalker & others Spanish, as she is one of the only ones to speak that language in the office! On her days off, she enjoys working out & hanging out with her family and dog too!

One of my favorite things to do in life is helping others. At this office I’m able to do so with enthusiastic, genuinely caring and exceptional dentists and team members.

I came to this area and graduated from Cal Poly in the health field and fell in love with the Central Coast. My life has been filled with many adventures, Phlebotomist, college, Fitness Director and Flight Attendant. These experiences led me to become a dental hygienist and to serve others. I enjoy working with patients of all ages, educating them on oral and general health. I especially love to help to create beautiful healthy smiles.

When I'm not at the office, I'm working to benefit neurodivergent teens and young adults. On my downtime I enjoy being with my family, involved with my church, keeping active, dog training, learning new things, gardening and traveling.

Teri has over 30 years of experience in dentistry. She has lived on the Central Coast for over 30 years. She loves gardening, family, and her two wonderful dogs! She enjoys working with the amazing people at Atascadero Hills Dental. 

Kaitlin was born and raised on the Central Coast. She has two dogs named Tucker and Luna. She is a certified scuba diver and enjoys hiking, dirt bike riding with friends and family. If she’s not doing something active with her dogs, you can find her at the lake with a cocktail in hand.
